Morningstar classifica ogni fondo all'interno della sua categoria, assegnando cinque stelle al primo 10% dei fondi, quattro stelle al successivo 22,5%, tre stelle al 35% medio, due al successivo 22,5% e una stella al 10% inferiore .
Tieni presente che si basa sulle prestazioni passate e non è un indicatore dei risultati futuri.

Detto questo, di seguito è riportato l'elenco dei fondi obbligazionari a quattro e cinque stelle in ciascuna categoria con investimenti minimi di $ 500.000 e inferiori. La maggior parte dei fondi ha più " classi di azioni ", il che è un modo in cui gli investitori possono scegliere tra carichi front-end e strutture tariffarie. A volte solo una classe di azioni si classifica bene, mentre a volte due o tre classi si classificano. In quest'ultimo caso, tutte le classi di azioni sono mostrate su una riga, con il ticker che rappresenta la prima classe di azioni elencata.
I ticker sono un modo pratico per condurre ulteriori ricerche sui fondi; semplicemente inserendo il ticker su Google o Yahoo! La finanza porterà una grande quantità di informazioni. La sezione di riferimento nella tua biblioteca locale avrà in genere a disposizione il libro Morningstar completo, che ti consentirà di visualizzare i rapporti sui fondi che stai ricercando.
Non che alcuni di questi fondi abbiano spese di vendita front-end ("carichi") e devono essere acquistati tramite un broker.
